Sponge Press Operator

Job Description

Forms sponge molded rubber parts by loading/unloading raw rubber into aluminum mold cavity and loading mold into hydraulic press (oven). Works a station of 2-3 to presses. Scan on/off jobs via computer terminal. Off-press responsibilities include working at prep table, cutting extrusion to specifications, drilling extrusion, inserting clips per job specs. Great schedule of 7:00am to 3:30pm.


High school diploma or GED; six months experience is a manufacturing or production setting. Requires math skills to measure, weigh materials, multiply, divide, ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals; ability to apply and carry out instructions, and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standard situations.

Additional information

Physical demands include standing, walking, high dexterity, use hands to finger, handle tools or controls, reach, talk, or hear; frequently move or lift up to 15 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.

This is a full time opening that will initially be filled under a temporary-to-hire basis.
